Richard E. Alexander, 72, of Merriam, Kan., passed away Saturday, September 19, 2009, at his home. The family will receive friends at a visitation this Saturday, September 26, 10-11 a.m., at Longview Funeral Home and Cemetery, 12700 Raytown Road in Kansas City, Mo. Visitation will be followed by a private family graveside service. Richard was born in Chicago, Ill. He loved Jesus Christ and accepted Him as Lord as a teenager. He worked as a press operator at Multiprint Company for about 30 years, and DST for about six years. He also served in the Marine Reserves for seven years. He had retired. Richard was preceded in death by his mother, Margaret Edwards, and father, William Alexander; sister Margaret Moberg; brother William Alexander; and grandson Anthony Blair. He is survived by his wife, Nancy; two sons, David (Kellie), and Darin (Kristin), and five grandchildren, Valerie, Owen, Landon, Sarah, and Grace; two sisters, Patricia Chronister and Elsetta Torres, and two brothers, James and Bob, and many nieces and nephews.
