CIVIL WAR VETERAN
From Hampton Falls American Legion Records: MARSHALL, Benjamin F. US Army Civil Church Cemetery
********
1840 - Living in Hampton Falls NH with his parents. Although he appears to have been born at the end of the month the census was taken he appears to have been counted as the male Under 5. It's possible his date of birth on the stone is incorrect and he was a newborn when the census was taken.

1850 - Living in Hampton Falls NH with his parents where his father is working as a farmer, he is attending school. Siblings : Moses (this must be John M) age 23 working as a farmer, Lucy listed as Livy age 11, Sarah age 14.

1860 - Living in Hampton Falls NH with his mother (now a widow), he is working as a farmer. His brother John M is the only other person listed, also working as a farmer.

A Special Thanks to Robert Davis Purple Sr. (#47300652) for photographing the gravesite & for the above information on Benjamin Marshall.
