Services were held Monday at 3:30 p.m. in the Bahner chapel at Sulphur for Mrs. Mary Annie Elizabeth Sweeten, 88, who died Dec. 28 at the family home.

Born in Polk county, Arkansas, on Jan. 10, 1868, Mrs. Sweeten spent her early life in and near Dericks, Ark. She moved near Wynnewood in 1894 and had been a resident of Murray county for more than 40 years. She had made her home in Sulphur since 1922. She was a member of the Church of Christ.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Bell Hobgood, Los Angeles, Calif., and Mrs. Lee McClure, Sulphur; three sons, George Sweeten of Midwest City, John Sweeten of Sulphur, and Eccart Sweeten of Deming, N.M.; one half brother, Claude Jackson, Dericks, Ark., and 37 grandchildren, 46 great grandchildren, and 12 great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services were conducted by Jack Chaffin and burial was in Green Hill cemetery, Davis.

Pallbearers were John Crouse, Jim Carlton, David Laister, Jim McClure, Audie Mearil, and Pete McClure.
