Born in Williamsburg County, she was a daughter of the late Norman Leslie and Rosella Wilson Newton. She was a member of the Andrews Church of God.
Memories of grandmother were her walking over her house praying for her family and keeping house. She would always have something to eat when company came...cakes, pies, etc. Everyone in the community enjoyed her dishes.
Surviving are sons, Jessie James and William Ira Flowers of Andrews; daughters- Mary Lee Lambert of Georgetown, Lila Mae Lambert of Goose Creek, and Lucille Kennedy of Belton,SC. A brother Ranson Newton of Andrews; grandchildren, great-grandchildren; and a great great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband; daughter:Ruby Flowers Cooper; son:Robert Manning Flowers; sisters:Anna Jane Player and Bessie Louise Flowers; brothers:James Franklin, Lonnie L, John W, W. Ed Newton, Norman L Newton.
