Adj. to wife Vera G. Jones∼William Jones, 85, of Soddy-Daisy, passed away Wednesday, May 28, 2008, at his home. He was of the Church of God faith. He was a member of Daisy Masonic Lodge 706 F&AM and Ironworkers Union Local 704. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Vera Jones and two infant daughters.
He is survived by his nieces, Kathy Jones Shipman, Susan Norris; sisters, Vada White, of Dayton, Tenn., and Phyllis Conner, of Sebring, Fla.; special cousins, Betty Johnson, Sirbrenia and Dustin; and many other cousins.
Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Hamilton County Memorial Park with the Rev. Ted Painter officiating, followed by a Masonic and Military service.
Pallbearers will be Richard Jones, Dustin Everett, Ronnie Johnson, Freddie Norris, Douglas Wilcher, Timmy Wilcher and Joey Wilcher.
Family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until time of service Saturday at the funeral home.
