Christian "Christ" W. Birschbach, 92, of Mount Calvary, died Tuesday, May 17, 2005, with his nieces and nephew at his side.
He was born Aug. 23, 1912, in the Town of Taycheedah, the last surviving child of R. Peter and Margaret Schmitz Birschbach.

Christ attended Holy Cross Grade School. He had worked at the Mount Calvary Coal & Lumber Company. He retired in 1977. After retiring, he worked part-time for the Village of Mount Calvary.

He was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church in Mount Calvary and the St. Anthony Society.

Survivors include two sisters-in-law, Gladys Birschbach of Fond du Lac and Sally Birschbach of Sheboygan Falls; nieces; nephews; and special friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; nine brothers and a sister, Francis, Valentine, Walter, Richard, Sylvester, Louise Wagner, Ambrose, Leo and two infant brothers, Albert and Paul.

• Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 21, 2005, at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Mount Calvary. The Rev. Gerald Pehler, OFM Cap., will officiate. Burial will be at the parish cemetery.
