Willard A. Beam, 84, rural Kokomo, died at 12:13 a.m. April 21, 1990, in St. Joseph Hospital, Kokomo. He had been in failing health for the past year.

He was born May 17, 1905, in Goshen to James Jacob and Manora Garverich Beam. On July 20, 1924, he was married to Pansy Lenora Miller, who died May 25, 1960. His second marriage was to Lela Lorenz on Nov. 8, 1961. She survives.

A retired carpenter, Beam formerly lived in Carroll County. He was a member of Plevna Dunkard Brethren Church. Also surviving arc two daughters, Elizabeth Emig, Nobnoster, Mo., Eleanor Garcia, Chula Vista, Calif.; three sons, Leroy Beam, Swayzee, Maurice Beam, St.Louis, Mo., and J. Eldo Beam of Flora; two stepdaughters, Delores Lorenz of Plevna, and Kathleen Knights, Oakford; one brother, Charles Beam, Baldwin, Wisc.; 15 grandchildren; five step grandchildren; 36 great grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. A son and two sisters preceded in death.

Visitation is today from 2-8 p.m. at Laird Funeral Home, Amboy, and one hour prior to services at the church. Services will be held at Plevna Dunkard Brethren Church with Elders Harley Rush and Robert Carpenter officiating.
Burial will be in Maple Lawn Cemetery, Flora. Memorial donations may be made to the church.
