Virginia Ann Floer was the 8th of the ten children of Charles T. Floer and Elizabeth nee Williams. She was raised on the Northeast side of Detroit on Alma Ave.
Virginia had a daughter out of wedlock before she was of age, and the child was given to her oldest sister by her father.

She married Paul Heitzenreder about 1936 and had two children Paul and Patricia. When Patricia was about 14 months old, Virginia died in childbirth delivering another son who also died. She was 24 at the time, and mother and son shared a casket together.
