Gertie Glenn Buchanan Burleson
Gertie Glenn Buchanan Burleson, age 96, entered into the presence of her Lord Jesus Christ on September 28, 2009.
She was born in Spruce Pine, North Carolina on August 19, 1913 to Charlie B. Glenn and Ida McBee Glenn where she live the first 90 years of her life.
Gertie lived her faith with an amazing capacity to love other people.
Gertie was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands Lawrence Buchanan and Claude Burleson, four brothers, Clarence, Rev. Lloyd, Sam and Claude and one sister Ethel.
Surviving family members include daughter Glenda Huffman and husband Greg of Norman, Oklahoma and their daughter Autumn Kaldahl and her husband Jeff of Alexandria, Virginia; three sisters Elva, Ruth and Bettie of North Carolina; three step children, Georgia, Claude Jr., and Jewel also of North Carolina.
Funeral services will be held in the Grindstaff Memorial Chapel on Saturday October 3, 2009 at 2:00 pm. The family with receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Interment will follow in the Spruce Pine Memorial Cemetery.
