Sharon D. Cheek, 82, Pekin, formerly of Atlanta, passed away at 1:05 a.m. Monday (Sept. 28, 2009) at Timber Creek Nursing Home, Pekin.
He was born in Atlanta, Il. to Walter E. and Mary Garnet Cheek. He married Betty Rose Brandt on Nov. 9, 1945, in New Orleans. She preceded him in death June 14, 1998.
Surviving are his sons, Joe (Brinda) Cheek, Pekin, and Craig (Estella) Cheek, Lowell, Arkansas; one brother, Weldon (Billie) Cheek, Atlanta; six grandchildren, Teresa (Ryan) McLane, Starla Corn, Janelle Cheek, Alex (Kimberly) Cheek, Jennifer Cheek and Bryan (Valerie) Cheek; special niece, Janet Hart, Phoenix, Arizona and nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
He served in the U.S. Navy.
