Funeral of Capt. Foote
Military Order of the Loyal Legion is to pay a final tribute of respect to the memory of Captain Augustus R.S. Foote, who died at his home, 1712 22d Street Northwest, Friday morning, at the funeral services to be held at Wright's Chapel, 1337 10th Street Northwest, at 2 o'clock tomorrow afternoon. The interment will be in Arlington Cemetery with military honors.
Captain Foote was born in the United States Navy Yard at Boston, Massachusetts, April 4, 1847. His father, Rear Admiral Andrew Hull Foote, was the Commandant of the Navy Yard at the time of his son's birth. His mother was Miss Augusta Street, who belonged to one of the old families of New England at New Haven, Connecticut. Captain Foote was married in 1879 and since that date had resided nearly all of the time in Washington. He was Captain of the 5th Infantry, United States Volunteers and had been a member of the Military Order of the Legion for more than twenty years.
Captain Foote was ill only since Tuesday, May 2, his death being sudden and due to heart trouble. He is survived by his wife, Kate N. Foote and two daughters, Leila M. Cady of Cleveland, Ohio and Marguerite N. Foote.
