Mr. Nelson was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and burial is with military honors. He was a member of American Legion Post 51 and Harrisburg Lions Club.
He was a retired school teacher. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Rogers Nelson and a brother, Joe Nelson. He was the son of the late Fred and Mabel Webbert Nelson
Survivors include his daughters, Phyllis Timberlake and husband Charles of Concord and Carol Woods and husband David of Edmond, Okla., 8 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.
