Dies following Operation
Charles C. Armstrong, 74, a prominent figure in Posey county agricultural, church and republican circles, died at 3:15 o'clock Saturday morning at the Saint Mary hospital in Evansville following a operation performed Friday. He had been in ill health several months and was removed to the hospital Wednesday.
The deceased was an active member of the Griffin Christian church and affiliated with the Masonic and Odd Fellow fraternities.
Surviving are the wife Ida; two daughters, Mr. George Doll of Santa Monica, Calif., and Mrs. Rufus Harmon of Johnson, Ind.; a sister residing in Mt. Erie, Ill., and a granddaughter.
Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the Christian church in charge of the Rev A.F. Weaver of Cameron, Ill., former pastor there.
