A STRANGE DEATH
William Gorringe, of the Nineteenth Ward, Passes Suddenly Away.
At 5 o'clock yesterday morning, William Gorringe, who resides at the corner of Pear and First West streets arose to kindle the fire as usual. He had been down stairs but a few minutes, when he called to his wife and told her he was dying. Half an hour later, he was a corpse.
Deceased was about 65 years of age, was a harness maker by trade, and well-known throughout the city. Up to last evening, no physician had been called in, so the exact cause of his death was not learned. The deceased was in his usual health, so far as anybody knew, and his death is as strange as it was sudden.
