Erik was born on April 30, 1973 to Herman and Patricia Anderson in Youngstown, Ohio. Erik confessed to Christ at an early age at Pilgrim Baptist Church in Youngstown, Ohio. In 1991, Erik graduated from East High School and enlisted in the United States Army. He married Felisha Tiajuana and to this union two sons were born, Erik D. Jr. and Aaron Malik. Sergeant First Class Anderson served his country faithfully for over 15 years in various positions and locations including three deployments in support of the Global War on Terrorism, culminating as the G1 Non-commissioned Officer in Charge, at the Military Intelligence Readiness Command, Fort Belvoir, Virginia. Erik married Tamara Lenee' in 2006 and to this union one son was born, Braylen Josiah. In his spare time, Erik enjoyed spending time with family and friends, sports, and riding his motorcycle. He was a Master Mason and also a member of Kappa Alpha Psi. Erik was an extremely loving husband, devoted father, and a true friend to all he knew. Erik departed this life on September 26, 2009. He is survived by his wife Tamara L. Anderson, three sons, Erik D. Anderson Jr., Aaron M. Anderson, and Braylen J. Anderson. He is also survived by his mother Patricia A. Anderson of Youngstown, Ohio, his father Herman R. Anderson of Waukegan, Illinois, grandparents Archie and Irene Rue of Elyria, Ohio, a sister Sheaness N. Anderson of Youngstown, Ohio, aunt Robinette, three nieces and one nephew, and a host of family and friends. He was preceded in death by grandparents, Charles and Mattie Hawkins, Henrietta Rue, and his cousin Keyshara Hawkins.
