MRS MARY KENNEDY
Mrs. Mary (O'Sullivan) Kennedy of 102 Homestead Ave. died Saturday night in the Holyoke Hospital. She was the mother of nine children, including four registered nurses and two policemen. She was the widow of John Kennedy.
Mrs. Kennedy was born in County Kerry, Ireland, daughter of the late Thomas and Johanna (O'Sullivan) O'Sullivan and had lived in this city for the past 60 years. She formerly lived on Jarvis Ave. She was a member of the National Council of Catholic Women, Holy Cross Chapter.
Mrs. Kennedy is survived by six daughters, Mrs. Helen Rasweiler of Garden City NY, Mrs. Donald Bieg, Mrs. Martin Finn and Miss Kathleen Kennedy of Holyoke all four of whom are nurses, Miss Mary A. Kennedy, and Mrs. Donald McNee, both of Holyoke, two sons John T. Kennedy a member of the Holyoke Police Department, Jerome F. Kennedy of Roslindale a teacher in the Boston Public School System and the State College of Boston another son Thomas Kennedy a member of the Los Angeles Calif. police department died in the line of duty 1951: three sisters Mrs Helen Hoar and Mrs. John Hoar both of this city and Mrs. Maurice O'Connor of Long Island NY: four brothers Daniel J and Martin O'Sullivan of this city, Jeremiah of Detroit Mich., and Michael O'Sullivan in Ireland: 27 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews among which are the Rev Raymond O'Sullivan of Holy Cross Parish, Springfield and Rev. Leo Hoar of Holy Family Parish, Brightside, Holyoke and Rev Sister Raymond Francis of the Sisters of St. Joseph stationed in St Joseph's Convent, North Adams.
The funeral will be held from the James P Hobert and Sons Funeral Home Tuesday morning followed by a solemn high mass of requiem in Holy Cross Church. Burial will be in St Jerome's Cemetery.
