Mrs. P. N. Estes, an old resident of Lamar county, died about 6 o'clock yesterday morning at her home at Howland of pneumonia, after an illness of only a few days. The funeral will take place this afternoon and will be conducted by Rev. A. P. West of this city. The interment will be at McDonald graveyard. The deceased was seventy years old and had been living in Lamar county many years. She was a noble, kind-hearted woman, who was widely known among the people of the community for her gentleness of spirit and many good deeds. She was a member of the Baptist church and was a devoted Christian. The deceased is survived by her husband and several children. Two of the sons, Will and Clark Estes, live in Paris, and a son and daughter, C. W. Estes and Mrs. Jennie Perkins, live at Roxton. One daughter, Mrs. H. C. Bassham, lives in Oklahoma. Three of the children, J. W. Estes, Mrs. J. L. Shilling and Miss Arrie Estes, live in Howland.
