Denny graduated from Mechanicsburg High School Class of 1965, and received his Bachelor's Degree in Accounting from Penn State University. He served with the military police in the U.S. Air Force, and later retired as the Accounting Manager from United Water of Pennsylvania after 28 years of dedicated service.
Denny was an active member of Shepherdstown United Methodist Church serving as the financial secretary for 22 years and sang in the church choir for 45 years. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed sports pools and loved the Eagles, Phillies and Penn State football.
In addition to his mother, Denny is survived by his loving wife of 40 years Madeline (Mucci) Beitzel; two sons Steven C. Beitzel and his wife Susan of Dillsburg; Michael E. Beitzel and his wife Brenda of Crozet, VA; two brothers Dr. Barry J. Beitzel and his wife Carol of Gurnee, IL; Vernon L. Beitzel and wife Beverly of Lexington, VA; a sister Dixie L. Rider of Mechanicsburg as well as four grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, October 7, 2009 at Shepherdstown United Methodist Church (SUMC), followed by the burial at Grantham Memorial Park.
