BALDWYN - Earl Douglas Adams, 89, died Thursday, Jan. 6, 2005, at his sister's home. He was born Jan. 3, 1916, in Baldwyn to the late Abbie and Maggie Adams. He graduated from Baldwyn High School and attended Northeast Mississippi Community College. A veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corps, he served as an assistant crew chief in B-17s in the 8th Air Force in England during World War II. He was a retired employee of the Carnation Milk Company in Baldwyn and a member of the First Christian Church of Baldwyn. He enjoyed farming, woodworking and spending time with his grandchildren.

Services will be at 3 p.m. today at Waters Funeral Home with Bro. Tom Thomas, Bro. Joe Caraway and Bro. Frank Williams officiating. Burial will be in the Baldwyn Masonic Cemetery.

Survivors include three daughters, Judy Tucci and husband, Michael, of Baldwyn and Debbie Thornburg and husband, Danny, of Shelby, Ala., and Jan Smith and husband, Dennis, of Baldwyn; a son, Rob Adams and wife, Regina, of Baldwyn; a sister, Marjorie Adams of Baldwyn; a brother, Guy Adams and wife, Eloise, of Baldwyn; his grandchildren, Maria Hughes and husband, Hayden, Jana and Kelsey, and Blake, all of Baldwyn.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Cleo Anglin Adams; his parents; and a sister, Berta Lou Lloyd.

Pallbearers will be Mitch Caver, Sidney Duncan, Wayne Griffin, John Mabry, O'Neal Mears and Randy Shelley.
