Mother of Mrs. Harold Babcock, Lillian Allen Dies

The mother of Mrs. Harold (Margaret) Babcock and grandmother of Dr. George Babcock and Dr. James Babcock, all of Bluffton, Mrs. Lillian C. Allen, 89, died at 11:35 a.m. Monday at Cooper Community Care Center, where she had been a resident the past two years.

Mrs. Allen, who formerly resided on Huntington Route 3 until becoming a resident at the care center, had been in failing health the last two years. She was a member of Majenica United Methodist Church.

Born June 9, 1891 in Huntington County, she was a daughter of Mack and Hattie Worster Craig. Her marriage Sept. 18, 1913 was to Delmer Allen, who died Sept. 19, 1961.

Surviving in addition to the daughter and grandsons are a son, George Allen of Huntington Route 5; two sisters, Miss Ruth Craig and Mrs. Fred B. (Georgia) Kletser, both of Huntington Route 5, six other grandchildren and16 great-grandchildren.

Calling will be from 7 to 9 p.m. today and 1 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the H. Brown and Son Funeral Home in Warren.

The body will be taken at 9 a.m. Thursday to the Majenica United Methodist Church where services will be at 10 a.m. Rev. Milton Gould, assisted by Rev. Charles Gast, will officiate.

Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery at Warren.
