Funeral services for Velma Newman were held Thursday, Nov. 4, at the Roberson Funeral Home, Pattonsburg. Burial was in Old Town Cemetery, Pattonsburg. Memorial contributions may be made to the Old Town Cemetery, Pattonsburg, and may be left at the funeral home.
Velma (Clark) Newman, 91, Pattonsburg, died Nov. 2, 1999, at an area health care center.
Mrs. Newman, a housewife, was born in Matkins.
She was a member of the Pattonsburg Christian Church.
On Aug. 31, 1925, she married Sterling "Tippie" Newman. He died on July 12, 1990.
Mrs. Newman was also preceded in death by a daughter, Betty Jane Newman; and two brothers, Oren and Wayne Clark.
Survivors include a daughter, Dixie Burks, Plattsburg; two brothers, Ivin Clark, Bethany, and Lowell Clark, Idaho; two sisters, Vona Green, Stanberry, and Leotha Johnston, Wayne, Mich.; two grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
