Raymon Andrew Wimberley was born on February 1, 1913, in Hays County, Texas, to Andrew Jackson Wimberley and Fanny B. Tanner Wimberley. He was the 14th of their 15 children. His paternal grandparents were Pleasant Wimberley and Amanda Jackson Wimberley.

Raymon married twice. His first marriage was to Eris Manning Morris, an elementary school teacher. They had one daughter. His second marriage was to Minnie Lorine Martin who owned a bookkeeping business in Waco. Andrew and Minnie had one son.

Raymon died on November 24, 2000, at his daughter's home in Lockhart, Caldwell County, Texas. He was buried in Waco Memorial Park in Waco, McLennan County, Texas. Six years later, his second wife Minnie died and was buried beside him. His first wife Eris was buried with her family in Seymour, Baylor County, Texas.
