LEROY BETHEL BROWNLOW was born in Laclede Co., MO, son of William Grigsby Brownlow and Jane Priscilla Faires. Siblings were Bluford Morgan, Elby L., and Susannah Elizabeth.

LeRoy married Elizabeth Nevill July 26, 1868 in Laclede Co., MO. Elizabeth was b: abt 1852 in KY d: March 6, 1885 Laclede Co., MO. Children: Mary Alice, James Wiley, Laura Jane, Ida May, Margaret Belle, Marion Alfred, William G., Elmer Silas and one unnamed. If anyone knows where Elizabeth Nevill Brownlow is buried please let me know. Thanks

2nd Marriage Dec. 15, 1887 in Springfield, Greene Co., MO to Rebecca Ellen Cook B: Jan 6, 1869 D: Jan. 5, 1953, Springfield, MO. Children: Susan Elizabeth, Florence Lee, Gracie, Walter Elby, John Oscar, Sherman LeRoy, Bertha, Verna Opal, Helen Lois and one unnamed.

LeRoy served in the Civil War 1862-1865 with the Union. He was a shoe maker in Springfield. He died of Chronic organic heart trouble at age 67 yrs. 6 mos. 26 days. He is my paternal ggrandfather.

LeRoy's brother Elby L. went to serve with the Confederates, and was not heard from after 1863.
