Death of an Estimable Lady.

Mrs. ADELLE DORCAS DOLES, wife of Mr. Robert S. Doles, died quite suddenly at her home near Plain Dealing, on Sunday, May 30, 1897, aged 35 years.

Mrs. Doles was the daughter of Maj. C. McClenaghan, deceased, and Mrs. J. E. McClenaghan, of Plain Dealing. She was born in South Carolina, May 31, 1862 and moved with her parents to Bossier Parish in 1865, when a child, where she lived until her death. The sunny years of her beautiful life had been passed in our midst, and the beauty of her inner life was best known to those who loved her best.

In 1884, she was united in marriage to Mr. Robert S. Doles, and a life of unalloyed happines has crowned these years. A beacon light she pointed him onward and upward, as the day star of his life with loving counsel she ministered at the altar of Home. The loved ones of earth were the objects of her ever vigilant care.

Though her life was brief, yet its bright record was made up of well spent years of gracious usefulness, and time left no trace of life's years, only the sweet smile lingered, the faithful index of a loving heart.

Mrs. Doles was a member of the Methodist church and a devoted Christian woman, favorably known, highly esteemed and greaty beloved. She leaves a husband, five children, a mother and two brothers to mourn her death. She was buried at Cottage Grove on Monday, her 35th birthday. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. P. H. Hensley, a very large number of friends being present.

We tender our deepest sympathies to the bereaved. May a merciful Father comfort the heart broken husband, motherless children, aged mother and sorrowing
brothers.
