Elmer Schriner, son of Jess and Neoma Troyer Schriner, was born in Smith County, Kansas, October 26, 1915 and departed this life September 27, 1972 at the Webster County Hospital at Red Cloud, Nebraska at the age of 56 years, 11 months and one day. On September 19, 1937 he was united in marriage with Edna Malick. To this union
were born four children. Although Elmer worked for a few years in construction he lived most of his life on the farm and never completely gave up farming even after moving to town. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and sports. Horses were his favorite interest. Elmer was preceded in death by his parents and by one brother and two sisters. He is survived by two sons Jerry of Loop City and Johnny of Inavale; two daught4es Mrs. Judy Overfield of headings and Mrs. Connie Miller of Inavale; by six brothers, Alfred of Grand Island, Clarence of Franklin, Paul and Kenneth of Guide Rock, Guy of Riverton, and Chester of Cozad; seven sisters, Mrs. Verdie Jackson of Riverton, Mrs. Elise Edgar of Franklin, Mrs. Violet Gonzales of Yakima, Washington, Mrs. Clare First of Lincoln, Mrs. Florence Francis of Council Bluffs, Iowa, Mrs. Dixie Dean of Omaha, and Esther Baker of McCarney,
Texas, seven grandchildren and numerous other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held October 1, 1972 at the Franklin United Methodist Church with Rev. Harold Dodson officiating.
