WHEELER - Acker Allen, 82, died Saturday, Feb. 14, 2004, at his residence in the Wheeler community after an extended illness. He was born Aug. 4, 1921, in Union County. He was a retired mechanic that specialized in farm and industrial equipment repair. He was a member of the Mt. Olive Baptist Church and a Deacon for over 42 years. He was a U. S. Army veteran of World War II.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Waters Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Bob Cossey and Bro. Billy Langley officiating. Burial will be in the Lebanon Cemetery.

Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Clara Mae Allen of Wheeler; one daughter, Linda Farrar and her husband, Wade, of Guntown; one son, James Allen and his wife, Ann, of Baldwyn; seven grandchildren, Jeff Allen, Jennifer Chauvin, Greg Allen, Michael Allen, Brian Baker, Kim Booker and Tim Farrar; 12 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Lena Allen; three brothers, Lawrence Allen, Boyd Allen and Earnest "Buck" Allen; and one sister, Frances Sappington.

Pallbearers will be J. T. Cartwright, Curtiss Greenhill, Billy Roberts, Charlie Roberts, Neal Wallis and Harry Old. Honorary pallbearers will be the remaining Deacons of Mt. Olive Baptist Church.
