Sgt. Harold D. Broyles was a Gunner on the B-17Flying Fortress, the "Hellzapoppin" with the 92nd Bomber Group, 327th Squadron out of Bovington, England. . He was shot down on 12 August 1943 and was taken prisoner. He survived later became a ground crew chief.

His wife was Arlene M. Broyles.They married 24 August 1947. They had three sons and six daughters and many grandchildren. She died in Las Vegas, NV on 16 Aug 1999, and is buried in Ft. Logan National Cemetary, Denver, CO.
