Wm. Ewry a Brown Township Farmer, Meets tragic death during the electrical storm Monday afternoon.
1903.
During the heavy electrical storm Monday afternoon, Wm Ewry seventy-five years old, who resided about three miles northwest of Ansonia, was struck by lightning and instantly killed. The deceased who had been at work in a cornfield had started for the house when the storm came up, and was struck down by the bolt while en route there. He was most highly respected and leaves a wife, several children and many friends to mourn his tragic and sad death.

During the stormy weather of Monday Nov. 16, Wm. Ewry, aged 75 years, of near Ansonia, was struck by lightning in the corn field when walking toward the house and instantly killed. he was a highly respected citizen. The same day the barn of Mrs. Berry, near North Star was destroyed by lightning. Mr. Shepard, residing on the Holloway farm near Brock, was hurrying a colt during the storm that day, and just stepped aside lightning struck the animal and killed it. He was badly stunned by the shock.
