Lucy Wanell Tanner Douglas, of Nicholls GA passed away on Sunday, March 28, 2010, at the Bacon County Hospital in Alma GA. Mrs. Douglas, a native of Coffee Co. GA, was born July 23, 1925. She was the daughter of the late James Manning Tanner and Addie Cole Tanner and the widow of the late Arthur Douglas. She was the oldest & longest member of Saginaw Baptist Church and she was a former secretary of the Nicholls School.

All her brothers, James (Jim) T. Tanner, George Tanner, B. E. (Wass) Tanner, Bill Tanner & Alonzo Tanner and sisters, Marie, Tug, Tete, Neat, Eula Mae (Tiny) preceded her in death. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM, Wednesday, March 31, 2010, at Saginaw Baptist Church. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 30, 2010 from 6:00 to 9:00 PM at Sims Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Roberts Cemetery near Nicholls GA. Active pallbearers were Ashley Davis, Mickey Burnam, Roy Waldroup, Melvin Bratcher, Jimmy Ray Davis & Roy Sweat. Survivors include a sister, Christine Tanner Davis, Douglas GA and several nieces and nephews. Sims Funeral is in charge of the arrangements.
