Born at Cottage Hill, Doublin (sic) Twp, Philadelphia Co. the son of Dr.John H. Gibbon and his wife Alice,nee Lardner. He was Captain of Artillery serving as Ordinance Officer with the Confederate States Ordinance Department and later was in charge of the shore batteries at Mobile, Alabama. He was married to Alice Shepard.
Captain Gibbon died at his residence, 8056 Frankford Ave., Holmesburg at the age of 89, a widower at that time. Lardner Gibbon was buried on 13 January 1910. He is buried at Range 1, Grave 80. His wife is buried at Range 1, Grave 79.
