Mrs. Thelma O. Wilcox, 83, died Friday night at Franklin Manor II, Farmington, where she had been a patient the past year and following a long illness.
She was born in Avon, April 21, 1899, the daughter of John F. and Georgia E. Tyler Oberton. She married Clyde F. Wilcox in April of 1941. He died Aug. 14, 1968. Mrs. Wilcox was a member and post officer of North Franklin Grange, Phillips, a member of the Cleopatra Temple, PS of Strong, a member and post noble grand of Hope Rebekah Lodge, Phillips, a member of Mt. Blue Canton and a former member of Sandy River LEA. She also was a member of Oppalunski Chapter, OES. of Strong, and of the American Logion Auxiliary of the Prescott-Fairbanks Post, Phillips.
Surviving are two sons, Frank Spencer of Strong and Everett Spencer of Cape Elizabeth; four daughter, Mrs. Arthur (Jessama) Bourgoin of Manchester, N.H., Mrs. Andrew (Lois) Phillips and Mrs. Edward (Wally) Gilcrest of Avon and Mrs. David (Harriet) Haines of Dallas Plantation; several stepchildren; 27 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
