Teddy was born Nov. 7, 1926, in Logan, Utah, to Errol Williams Palmer and Laura Vineta Daniels Palmer. She spent most of her youth in Logan before moving to Salt Lake City with her mother, following her father's death in 1943.
She was married to Wendell Dee Hislop of Huntsville, Utah, in 1945. The marriage produced four children and she is survived by all four: Wendell Craig Hislop (Nancy) Logan, Brent Palmer Hislop (Bonnie) Sparks, Nev., Susan Vineta Hislop Hammond (Ron) Logan, and Malley Hislop Los Angeles. Widowed in 1961, Teddy worked more than 30 years as a presser and seamstress for Mode ODay in Logan while raising her children alone.
She was later married to George J. Nelson in 1979. The couple was divorced in 1981.
Her greatest joy in life came from the tremendous pride she took in the accomplishments of her children, 17 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
Teddy is preceded in death by her first husband (Wendell), her brother (Kenneth), one of her sisters (Emma Jean Kirkham), and two grandchildren (Anita and David).
She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Logan 11th Ward. Teddy had a strong belief in the power of prayer and often credited her faith in prayer with helping her get through her child rearing years.
Services for Teddy will include a viewing from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 7, at Allen-Hall Mortuary at 34 East Center Street, Logan, followed by a 2:00 p.m. graveside service at Logan Cemetery. All (including her favorite pro tennis player, Andre Agassi) are welcome to attend.
