Clarence grew up in Snyder and attended school there, being one of the 1st in the 12th grade class at S.H.S. He enjoyed playing baseball and was known in this area for this. He was a catcher and that is where he got his slogan.
Clarence married Elizabeth Heller in 1930. They lived in Dodge and had one daughter, Cherie (Bentz) Taylor. They moved to Fremont in 1936 and lived there until his death in 1973."
