Mr. Jerry A. Delp, age 57, of Grand Haven passed away at his home on December 9, 2007. He was born December 31, 1949 in Zeeland, Mi to Frank and Norma (Struckfaden) Delp. Jerry married the former Diana Palmer on November 19, 1979 in Spring Lake. He has lived in Grand Haven for 35 years coming from Dorr, Mi and was a machinist for Pine Tree Cutting and loved to work with all kinds of machinery. Jerry was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a former member of the VFW. He loved to work on small engines and volunteer at Shore Haven Nursing home playing games and cards with the patients. He is survived by his loving wife, Diana; 1 daughter, Sandra Slotman, Grand Haven; 1 grandson, Austin Buzzell; a good friend, Kyle Cook of Grand Haven who was like a son to Jerry; his mother, Norma Schipper, Dorr; 3 sisters, Barbara (George) Ash, Grand Rapids, Mary (David) Bellinger, Kalkaska, Sonny (Mark) Brenner, Dorr; 1 brother, Tom (Kathy) Delp, Howard City; 2 stepsisters, Peggy (Frank) Taylor, Branch and Darlene Schultz of Holland. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. The Service for Jerry will be 1:00 p.m. Thursday, December 13, 2007 at the Klaassen Family Funeral Home with Pastor Jerald Poehl officiating. Interment will be at Grand Haven Township Lakeshore Cemetery. Military Rites will be performed by the American Legion Charles A. Conklin Post #28. Friends may meet the family 1 hour prior to the service. Memorials to Hospice of North Ottawa Community.
