OBITUARY
Charles Guthrie was born in West Virginia in 1847. When a child his parents moved to Ohio, in which state he grew to young manhood. He was united in holy wedlock to Mary Jane Brammer on Sept. 15, 1880. To this union there was given eight children, four of whom died in early childhood. The deceased leaves to mourn his departure, three sons and one daughter, Ira, of Muskogee, Okla., Cecil and Ollie of Little River, Kans., and Audra Guthrie Pulliam, of Malaga, N.M. Soon after the marriage the young couple came to Missouri and settled in Henry county, near White Oak M. E. church. There the family lived for many years until about 13 years ago, they moved to Appleton City, Mo.
Brother Guthrie was a faithful and devoted member of the M. E. church and he was ever ready to do his part as a Christian under all circumstances.
The funeral services were held in the M. E. Church in Appleton City, July 3, 1922, at the Methodist Church, in the presence of many of his friends and brethren. He died as he had lived, firm in his religious convictions in the hope of the life to come.
