J. D. ARMSTRONG, ONCE BUILDING CONTRACTOR, DIES
John D Armstrong, 83 years old, died Wednesday at the Convalescent Home, 381 Houston avenue, after an illness of one year. He was a building contractor here and was well known to the building industry before his retirement in 1925.
He was born in Perry, Maine, April 10, 1856. His home has been in Muskegon and Muskegon Heights for 27 years. He came here in 1911 from Wisconsin Rapids, Wis. His wife died in 1911.
Surviving are three sons, John L. Armstrong, of Bellingham, Wash., Leighton F. Armstrong, of Muskegon, and Howard W. Armstrong, of Muskegon Heights; one daughter, Mrs. H. F. Pedler, of Muskegon Heights; nine grandchildren; one brother in Perry, Maine, and one sister in Hollywood, Calif.
