"Well done, thou good and faithful servant, enter ye now into the joys of heaven." No more fitting words can be found in the Bible that would more clearly portray the good works of that old and highly respected man of God, the Rev. C. H. Cramer, who at the age of 84 years, cast aside his earthly burdens and entered into the joys of the world to which he had long journeyed on Saturday, January 16, 1932, at his rural home near Florence in Morgan county. Peacefully and quietly, with a serene smile of confidence, the last words of this grand old minister, spoken to his aged wife were, "Jesus is leading me," and the pilgrimage of a life fraught with kind words and deeds was finished. An active Baptist minister for more than fifty years, and unblemished record of honesty and integrity, a patient, charitable and helpful disposition and a high and noble view of life all tended to endear Brother Cramer to all with who he came in contact. Perhaps no other man in the county enjoyed the close friendships, the confidences and the love and respect as that enjoyed by this splendid citizen, and his passing is mourned not only by his kindred but by the entire countryside. Could the late A. G. Baker prepare this tribute to Brother Cramer for the Statesman, he doubtless would point out in detail the many fine points in the character of his friend of more than a half century. He would likely tell of many instances wherein Brother Cramer practiced a practical religion and lived a life of consecration to his God and to his fellowmen. A. G. Baker would delight in extolling the virtues of his departed friend and the verbal flowers he would place at his bier would be of the highest order, for this love and friendship toward Brother Cramer was unlimited. To those that are grieved and in sorrow over the passing of this good Christian man, especially to the aged widow who for nearly sixty-nine years was the companion and helpmate through the storms and sunshine of their lives, the Statesman extends deepest sympathy. The life of brother Cramer has enriched the community in which he lived, has strengthened the weak and helped the needy, has led many sinful souls to repentance and saving grace, has been a good father and husband and all of these add but to his glory in death. Indeed we mourn his passing but should rejoice in his lifetime of good works. We should sympathize with those that mourn, but how much more should we rejoice in the boundless heritage as falls to them in exemplifying in their lives the good things given them by Brother C. H. Cramer.

Obituary: C. H. Cramer was born November 5, 1847 and passed away January 16, 1932, being 84 years, two months and eleven days old at the time of his death. He was united in marriage to Nancy A. Newman on September 6, 1863, and to this union fourteen children were born, five of who have preceded their father in death. Rev. Cramer was a soldier in the Civil War, serving in Co. H, 45th Mo. Infantry Volunteers. At the close of the strife he took up ministerial work and was an active minister for more than fifty years. At the age of 18 he united with the Baptist church and has been a consistent Christian all his life. He was the only remaining Civil war veteran in the Florence community. Funeral services were held at the Bethlehem Baptist church at Florence Monday afternoon the Rev. J. R. Summers, of Sedalia, assisted by the Rev. P. T. Summers, of Warsaw, officiating. Interment was in the Bethlehem cemetery. Songs at the services which were largely attended, were by the Bethlehem choir and were as follows: "Amazing Grace," "Asleep in Jesus" and "The Land Where We Never Grow Old." Surviving him besides his widow are the following children: David M. Cramer, Mrs. Sarah M. Sullivan, William J. Cramer, Mrs. Bettie Rickey, Ben J. Cramer, Joseph E. Cramer, Mrs. Etta Cutler, Mrs. Nora Fatheringham and Mrs. Rachael Fisher. The following brothers and sisters also survive: J. W. Cramer, J. B. Cramer, Mrs, Ben Brewer and Mrs. John Riley and one hundred and five grandchildren and great grandchildren.
