AKOGYERAM, DR. ESTHER

Dr. Esther Azumi Akogyeram, age 66, of Las Vegas, passed away Wednesday, July 5, 2006.

She joined the U.S. Air Force medical corps and was stationed at Nellis Air Force Base in Las Vegas from 1976 to 1979.

Born Nov. 7, 1939, in Bawku, Ghana, Africa, Esther was board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics. She opened her medical practice in 1979, and was a pediatrician in Las Vegas for 30 years until her untimely death.

She was preceded in death by her father, Nicholas Akogyeram; and two brothers, Nii Sowa and Isaac Akogyeram.

Esther is survived by her mother, Grace Akogyeram; five brothers; and three sisters.

Visitation will be from 2-7 p.m. Friday, July 28, at Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd.

Services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday, July 29, at the First Presbyterian Church, 1515 W. Charlestion Blvd. Interment will be held in Ghana.
