He was born in Sangerville on January 24, 1933, and was a son of the late William E. and Mary Catherine (Daggy) Fifer.
Carson was a farmer, carpenter, custodian and mowed several church yards and cemeteries in the area. He was a member of Sangerville Church of the Brethren. His community activities included being a member of Sangerville Tower Ruritan Club for 30 years, a lifetime member of Mt. Solon Fire and Rescue (where he served as treasurer for 17 years).
He was united in marriage on March 11, 1956 to his wife Charlotte, of Bridgewater. Surviving in addition to his wife is a sister, of Mt. Solon; a brother and his wife, of Mt. Solon; a sister-in-law, of Bridgewater; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Carl E. Fifer.
A memorial service will be held at Sangerville Church of the Brethren at 7:00 PM on Sunday, September 7, 2014 with Rev. Kevin Daggett officiating. Burial will be private.
