HAACKE, Mary Barbara "Bobbie" Linton 87, of Louisville, died peacefully on March 19th, 2005 at Westminster Health Care Center. One of eight Linton children, Bobbie was born in Louisville on July 23, 1917. After serving in the U.S., Navy at the height of World War II, Bobbie moved to Dayton, Ohio to attend the St. Elizabeth School of Nursing, from which she graduated. While attending school she met and married Dayton native, Jack Haacke. She and Jack lived approximately thirty-five years of their married life in Dayton. Bobbie worked in hospital nursing, but spent much of her career working in industrial nursing at General Motors for over two decades. Bobbie was active in music groups, playing both the dulcimer and accordion. She was a member of Ascension Catholic Church in Dayton. After retiring and returning to Louisville in 1997, Bobbie and Jack lived at Rose Anna Hughes Assisted Living Center. Jack died in December, 1998, and was buried in his hometown, Dayton. Her very attentive and only sister, Martha Jane Linton, pre-deceased her in May of 2003. Her six brothers have all also pre-deceased her. Bobbie is survived by a sister-in-law, Charity Sutton, of Hudson, Florida. Other survivors include ten nieces and eight nephews, 25 great nieces and 33 great nephews. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 23, at the Church of the Ascension in Kettering, with burial in Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the University of Dayton, the Church of the Ascension in Kettering or The Little Sisters of the Poor Nursing Home in Louisville.
