Clifford Busen was the son of Joseph Bernard Busen and Ann Marie Wort. On December 27, 1944 he married Roberta Roy, the daughter of John and Alvesta Roy. He was a twin brother to Cletus Busen. Clifford worked as an airplane assembler in Califonia before he joined the Army in 1944, where he served until 1946. He then moved to Michigan where his twin brother was living; and the two owned and operated the Busen Appliance Store in Lincoln Park, Michigan.
