KLAMATH FALLS, OREGON JANUARY 26, 1905

The death of James French who died at Naylox, in this county on January 15, closed the life of another Coast pioneer. He was buried at Merrill by the side of his wife who preceded him a number of years ago.

Deceased was born in Vermont May 22, 1823, and after living alternately in Vermont, Pennyslvania, Iowa, Wisconsin he moved to California and afterward came to Oregon, where he had lived six years prior to his death.

Miss Restora French, a daughter of deceased, is a prominent teacher in the schools of Klamath County.

Son of John French born Dec. 31, 1792 Reding, Windsor county, Vermont died Feb 3, 1871 Neilsville, Clark county, Wisconsin and his wife Mary Kennedy born Mar 16, 1794 Goffstown, Hillsborogh, New Hampshire died Aug. 4, 1849 Cedar City, Van Buren County, Iowa.

James French married Margaret Mickle abt. 1846; she was born 1821 Franklin, Delaware and died July 21, 1849 Lee County, Iowa from cholera. They were the parents of Rufina French born April 12, 1847 in Sugar Grove, Warren County, Pennsylvania.
Rufina married Walter Wilson Lemon and lived in Stockton, Calif.

James French married Marietta Brown born 1828 in Sussex, England and she died in 1869, aged 41.
