Ezra "Blake" Baird died at the Old Soldier's Home in Roseburg, Oregon on Thursday, February 17, 1927. He was born on March 4, 1838 to Benjamin and Rachel (Poorman) Baird in Indiana County, Pennsylvania, the seventh of ten children. He is a veteran of the Civil War. He married Nellie Webster at the Courthouse in Clearfield, Clearfield County, Pennsylvania on November 29, 1887. Blake, Nellie and their nine children moved from Burnside, Clearfield County, Pennsylvania to Sheridan, Oregon in 1906 coming by train. They moved to the Oakland, Oregon area in 1913. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Nellie Baird and the following children; Henry, Arthur, Don, Victor, Paul, Mrs. Olive Taber, Mrs. Dora Leatherwood, Mrs. Maude Cole and Mrs. Martha Hebard all of Oakland, Tyee and Umpqua, Oregon. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son, Robert Eugene Baird on January 10, 1901. Mr. Baird was buried at the IOOF Cemetery in Oakland, Oregon on February 19, 1927.

2nd Lieutenant, Co. F, 105th Pennsylvania Infantry. Enlisted as 1st Sgt. Wounded 31 May 62, Fair Oaks, VA. Commissioned 2nd Lt 2 Jan 62.
