James Henry Cunningham, 83, former Burley resident, died Pocatello hospital Thursday.
Cunningham served with Burley Police department a number of years while residing here between 1902 and 1932. He was also a farmer.
Born July 28, 1882 American Fork, Utah, a son of James C and Mary Agnes Adams Cunningham.
Married Lenora V. Jensen Dec. 31, 1902 Pleasant Grove, Utah and they moved to Burley. In 1932 they moved to Pocatello, where he operated a grocery store for eight years. He was employed at the Pocatello Naval Ordnance Plant until his retirement.
Survived by widow of Pocatello: three brothers, Joshua, Delos and Elmer Cunningham, all of Burley; two sisters, Elizabeth Hoagland, Los Angeles, Calif., and Mina Baker, Kelso, Wash.; four grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren and three great, great grandchildren. Two sons, Reed and Calvin Cunningham, preceded him in death.
Member of Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Funeral services Saturday 2 pm. Henderson Funeral Chapel, Pocatello, Robert Dickerson, Pastor, officiating.
Interment Mountainview Cemetery, Pocatello. Friends may call funeral home, 431 No 15th Ave.

1966 Obituary
James H Cunningham, 83, of 3746 Jason Avenue, died in the Bannock Memorial Hospital, early this morning after a long illness.
He was born July 28, 1882, at American Fork, Utah, a son of James C and Mary Agnes Adams Cunningham.
He married Lenora V Jensen, Dec 31 1902, at Pleasant Grove, Utah.
The family moved to Burley where Mr Cunningham was a farmer for many years. Later he was a member of the Burley Police Department.
They moved to Pocatello in 1932. He owned and operated a grocery store on South Fourth Avenue for several years. He began working at the Naval Ordnance Plant at the beginning of its operation and continued working here until the plant closed.
Besides his wife he is survived by three brother, Joshua Cunningham; Delos Cunningham and Elmer Cunningham, all of Burley; two sisters, Elizabeth Hoagland, Los Angeles; and Mina Baker, Kelso, Wash; four grandchildren, Jay R Cunningham and Jean Winland, both of Pocatello; Leona Pfieffer, Burley; and Jack Cunningham, Forrest City, Ark; 17 great grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Two son, Reed Cunningham and Calvin Cunningham, preceded him in death.
Member of the Re-organized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 2 pm at the Henderson Funeral Chapel with Robert E Dickerson, pastor of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, officiating.
Burial will be in the family plot Mountainview Cemetery.
