Snoden Wilson McClung was born October 4, 1874 in White River, Gibson County, Indiana, to Wilson and Mary Ellen (Thorn) McClung. His parents were from Wirt County, West Virginia and later returned to that place. He married Geraldine Hardman, the daughter of Jerome and Amie Silcott (Stump) Hardman on June 5, 1907 at the home of the bride in Grantsville, Calhoun County, West Virginia. The couple later moved to Buncombe County, North Carolina, where Snoden died on December 20, 1912. He is buried in Hardman Cemetery at Hardman Bend, Calhoun County, West Virginia.
