Ralph E. Tice
Mr. Tice, 87, of Charlotte, passed away on Monday, October 5, 2009 at Carolinas Medical Center-Mercy.
Mr. Tice was born May 31, 1922 in Goodland, Indiana, a son of the late Leroy Tice and Ethel Whipkey Tice. He served in the United States Army during WWII in the Philippines and was retired from Toledo Scale after 25 years of service. He was a member of First Christian Church and the American Legion Post #353-Paw Creek for 22 years. He was predeceased by a son, Roger L. Tice and his brother Leroy Tice, Jr.
Survivors include his wife of 68 years, Lucile M. Tice of Charlotte; a son, Larry E. Tice and his wife Kathy of Concord; a daughter-in-law, Kathleen Tice of Charlotte; a sister, Jean Ann Marion of Goodland, Indiana; a sister-in-law, Ione Humes of South Bend, Indiana; four grandchildren, Steven Tice, Kelly Johnson, Tammy King and Dawn Williams; and seven great-grandchildren.
A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, October 17, 2009 at First Christian Church, 1200 East Blvd., Charlotte, NC.
