Kathleen B. Owens Andrews, 100, passed away Monday, October 12, 2009. She was a resident of Franklin.
She was born August 20, 1909 in Franklin to George Burton and Lora (Wilkes) Burton. She was married to Dr. William H. Andrews, II, who preceded her in death. Survivors include her daughter, Lynn (Andy) Wiesman of Greenwood; step sons Dr. Fred (Sereta) Andrews and Bill (Susan) Andrews; four grandchildren, Greg (Dr. Allison) Wiesman of Indianapolis, Anne Wiesman of San Francisco, CA, SSG Jeanne Wiesman of Odenton, MD, and Julie (Mark) Timberman of Dublin, CA; and two great grandchildren, Jane and Katie Timberman.
Kathleen was a graduate of Franklin College, and remained active throughout the years with the Delta Delta Delta Alumni Association. She also was a member of the Psi Iota Psi service sorority.
She was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Franklin.
Kathleen retired from the Indiana State Employment Service, where she served as supervisor of teacher placement and clearance. She was Past Indiana President of the International Association of Personnel in Employment Security (IAPES). She also was a long time member of the Board of Directors of the Retired Indiana Public Employees Association (RIPEA).
Visitation will take place from 10-11AM Saturday at the First Baptist Church of Franklin, 201 E. Jefferson Street. A funeral service will follow at 11AM at the church. She will be laid to rest at Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin.
