A potluck reception in memory of R. Neal Davis will be at 1 pm Friday at the Butte Falls Community Center.
Mr. Davis, 59, of Butte Falls died Sunday March 31, 1996 at his home.

He was born May 17, 1936 in Eden, Idaho.
On Feb. 14, 1965, at Vale, he married Barbara Ruth Sanderson, who survives. They moved to The Rogue Valley from Eden in 1971.
Mr. Davis was a groundskeeper for for the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife. He was also an oiler on well-drilling rigs.
Mr. Davis served with the Idaho National Guard in Twin Falls in the 1950s.
He enjoyed soapstone carving, woodworking and sketching.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include three daughters, Cherrly R. Deuel and Kathy R. Davis, both of Gold Hill, and Julia A. Keys, Eldorado, Ariz.; four sons, Donald R., White City, Gary L., Vista, Calif., Glenn D. and Timothy L., both Boise; eight brothers, Jerry, Richfield, Idaho; Herbert, Princeton, Ore.; Leroy in California; George, Meridian, Idaho; Hardy and Dale, both Eden; Francis, Spanaway, Wash., and David, Bend; a sister, Evelyn Jantzen, Vale; and 14 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Calvin R.; and a daughter, Vonnda C. Davis. Arrangement: Hillcrest Mortuary, Medford.
