Adam Robson Batie was born in Grant County, Wisconsin and raised in Sac County, Iowa. Just after the turn of the century, Adam and his brother, Henry, moved to Bottineau County. Together, they entered the banking business with Adam managing the First Bank of Omemee and Henry the First National Bank of Bottineau. Adam married Jessie Maud Paff, an Omemee teacher, on June 26, 1907. They had seven children: June (Mrs. Leon Ebenhahn), Jacob, Robson, Victor, Harriet, and twins, Marian and Morris. After the bank closed, Adam farmed until his death. Jessie died in 1976 in California. After graduating from high school, Robson and Victor, along with friends, Vern Elliott and Ron Renick left for California. Eventually, all of the children moved to California except June, who lived in Wyoming, passing away in 2010 at age 101.
