George was born in Ontario. Artency is also spelled "Artencia". Artencia was the sister of Mary Hawn Elliott. They lived a short while east of Willow City before opening a hardware store and a small eating place with a few rooms in Omemee. Artencia ran the hotel. A son, Charles married Thyra Olson. They lived in the Omemee area for part of their lives when Charles was a rural mail carrier for Russell, N.D. George and Artencia's daughter, Mary Gertrude, and husband, Edwin Richardson, took over the hardware store. George and Artency also had a daughter, Cecile. George died in Omemee of pneumonia in 1924.
